La Neyliere Trip 2017

La Neyliere Trip 2017

The 2107 Staff trip to La Neyliere was a very successful one. Enhanced by the beautiful weather and a good spirit, everyone enjoyed the journey. Fr Jimmy McElroy was on hand to meet people which made everyone feel welcome.

Here are a few of the comments made by the participants.

Dear Kevin
Many thanks again for this excellent trip which I thoroughly enjoyed. I believe everything worked very well and it's hard to suggest anything that might be done differently. All the trips were relevant and left me with a deeper understanding of the Marist history and ethos. Your own "intros" were the perfect scene setters and the reflections and insights of David and John absolutely complemented these. It was great to catch up with Jimmy and he in particular made us feel very welcome in La Neyliere. If I had one addition to suggest it might be that there would be one day where there would be no trip but a day to wander locally and do some deeper reflection. However I can understand that this would make the trip probably too long.
Hi Kevin,
This time last week we were in St Etienne having missed our turn for l'Hermitage!
I thoroughly enjoyed the trip from start to finish. Your wealth of knowledge on the history of the Marists and the French Revolution was pitched at a perfect level for all. I have come back with a full understanding of our history as marists and our ethos which is engrained within all of us, feels stronger than ever.
You asked about anything we might change, I'd say not a thing, loved every minute.
Thank you Kevin.
Kevin,
All in All I think the trip went really well, I very much liked the narration in the bus on the way to different places and the historical context put a lot more in perspective for me. I think maybe a day longer might have been needed and that's it I wouldn't change anything else as it gives teachers working within the Marist order an excellent insight into ethos and what should be maintained on a day to day basis within school and daily life. Have a lovely summer!
