Last May a group of 17 Transition Year students from Chanel College, Dublin led by two teachers, Frank Dowling and Richie MacLiam cycled the northern coastel route of the Camino de Santiago. The trip was supported by the M.E.A. We flew to Santander and hired the bikes. A support vehicle accompanied us and transportexd the luggage each day. The terrain was a mixture of flat coastal routes and very hilly inland paths. None of it was too difficult, we were however all very glad to see Santiago.
For some it was a pilgrimage, for others a voyage of self-discovery but for all of us it was a marvellous experience. Open the above link for some pictures of the trip.
