On April 24th eight students from St.Mary’s College, Blackburn, flew to Dublin to compete in the Young Apprentice here in CUS. The event is in its 4th year and has proved to be a hugely successful collaboration between the two schools. The students came to the school from the airport and were quickly mixed into teams with strangers and had to produce, market and sell healthy food products in the CUS Healthy Eating Expo. The winners were Ben, Oisin, Shannon and Maariyah, the group that made the most money. They then were appointed project managers for day two….
On day two the new teams were given only two hours to solve clues, make a poster, t-shirt and CD cover and prepare a presentation for the judges in our ‘Brand the Band’ task.
The winners were announced in a celebration dinner in the Regency Hotel that evening. The judges complimented all of the contestants on their hard work, innovation and teamwork. A special thanks to this year’s sponsors Gerards, Dell and AIB.
Congratulations to Georgia-Mae Riley and Graham O’Neill for winning the Young Apprentice 2015.
